This year we're joining forces with 2 Feet Brewing and SK Tours of Maine for the 2026 Stephen King Birthday Celebration. There will be several events happening in Downtown Bangor Friday September 18th, Saturday September 19th, and Sunday September 20th. 

Movie Night at The Emporium - Sunday September 6th

Before Brian De Palma surprised the world with Carrie he gave us one of the most amazing, one of a kind, rock horror, dark comedy movie musicals ever made. With an unforgettable soundtrack of songs, all written by co-star Paul Williams, Phantom of the Paradise (1974) is a site to behold.

As usual we'll open our shop at 6:30pm and start the movie at 7:00pm. There is no fee to join us but if you want to toss in a few bucks for the electricity we would appreciate it.

Book Release; Friday, September 18th

We're kicking off the 2nd Annual Stephen King Birthday Block Party by welcoming Author Tom Deady and friends for the official release of Still Floating; 40 Years of Pennywise. Come join us and all your fellow It fans as Deady & Co. chat a bit about the making of this great tribute and sign copies of some the first ever physical copies made available to the public.

The event starts at 6:00pm in our Purple Room. Admission is free and copies will be avaiilable for purchase the night of. For more details about Tom Deady click here.

Dollar Babies Come Home Film Festival

On Saturday September 19th, from 12:00pm to 6:00pm we'll be showing several short films all based on short stories by Stephen King, aka "Dollar Babies".

The Dark Market

Saturday October 10th we're brining back The Dark Market, this time right in our very own shop.

From 3:00pm to 8:00pm a collection of local artists will be on hand in our Purple Room selling their wares that will help you celebrate the Halloween season in style.

Movie Night at The Emporium

It's not Halloween until Sam says so.

On Tuesday October 20th we're going to hang out in our Purple Room at watch one of the best horror films ever made, Trick r' Treat (2007).

Feel free to join us. We'll open the shop at 6:30pm and start the movie at 7:00pm. There is no fee to join us, but if you can toss in a few bucks to help us keep the lights on we'd appreciate it.

Spooky Stories: An Evening with Nomar Slevik

What better way to celebrate the
Halloween Season than with some scary stories?

On Saturday, October 24th at 7:00pm we
welcome local author and podcaster Nomar Slevik back to The Emporium to share some of the many stories he's collected over the years about ghosts, UFOs, cryptids, and the unexplained... and they all take place in our beloved state. 

For years Nomar Slevik has dedicated his life to chronicling stories of the strange and unusual in Maine and the urrounding area. Many of these can be found in his books UFOs Over Maine, Humaniod Encounters, and In The Pines

When he's not writing the stories he's sharing them as the host of a new podcast, Haunted Pines.

45 years of The Evil Dead (1981) at Black Bear Cinemas.

We are going back to Black Bear Cinemas! We're teaming up with our favorite movie theatre to celebrate the 45th Anniversary of The Evil Dead. Showtimes will be 4:00pm and 7:00pm. We'll be there too with a table of goods for the Deadites. To purchase tickets click here.
