With his tenure as Freddy Krueger winding down Robert Englund went looking for new challenges. Playing the infamous Erik, aka The Phantom, in a non-musical, horror film version of the classic novel proved to be right up his ally. Also starring Jill Schoelen (Popcorn) and Bill Nighy.
